On Monday, Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis said the team would re-evaluate it's running back situation once it was known Jeremy Hill was out for the year due to an ankle injury.
On Tuesday, the team signed Brian Hill off the Atlanta Falcons practice squad. He appeared in one game for the Falcons this year.
To make room for Hill on the roster, the team released linebacker Hardy Nickerson. Nickerson, an undrafted rookie out of Illinois, played in seven games for the Bengals.
Hill, a rookie out of Wyoming, is 6-foot-1 and 219 pounds and was a fifth-round pick of the Falcons.
