When the ball hit the ground, running back Joe Mixon and teammates watching anxiously on the Bengals sideline on Sunday replicated the sound they’ve heard at every practice since returning in April.
“Scccooooopppp,” Mixon imitated after the Bengals’ 34-23 win at Indianapolis.
Turnovers are always emphasized in the offseason, which Marvin Lewis was sure to point out postgame. But the Bengals needed more of them than last year when they finished tied for 31st in the league in takeaways with 14.
