In the first moments of training camp on Thursday, Cincinnati Bengals rookie guard Rod Taylor was pulling across the line of scrimmage when he crumpled to the ground and grabbed his right knee.
After being carted off on Thursday and seen on crutches in the locker room on Friday, the Bengals and Taylor got the worst news possible: he is out for the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament.
A seventh-round pick out of the University of Mississippi, the Bengals liked his athleticism and felt he could compete for a roster spot.
