Cincinnati Bengals extend tender offers to Brandon Wilson, Josh Tupou and others

Retaining productive players has been the Cincinnati Bengals’ philosophy. The team took a big step in doing that on Monday.

The Bengals designated wide receiver A.J. Green as the team’s franchise player. In addition to Green, the Bengals extended tender offers to tight end Cethan Carter, guard Alex Redmond, defensive tackle Josh Tupou and safety Brandon Wilson. Monday’s moves mean Carter, Redmond, Tupou and Wilson are restricted free agents once the new league year begins on Wednesday, March 18 at 4 p.m. ET.

As restricted free agents, the four have the liberty to negotiate with other teams, however, the Bengals have the right to retain them by matching any competing offers.
