The Cincinnati Bengals slashed their roster to 53 players on Saturday. QB Jake Dolegala, TE Mason Schreck, CB Greg Mabin, DE Freedom Akinmoladun and CB Winston Rose were among the notable cuts.
Bengals coach Zac Taylor acknowledged Saturday’s decisions were difficult, but he feels good about the evaluation process and the current 53-man roster despite no preseason games and a modified training camp.
“I think we found ways to get the full evaluation of the roster. That doesn't mean it was easy and that doesn't mean there weren't competitive spots where you would have liked to have kept 55, 56, 57 guys,” Taylor said.
