Steve Jackson in the new assistant coach in charge of the Cincinnati Bengals’ secondary.
The Bengals announced the hiring of Jackson as their secondary coach on Monday. Jackson is replacing Daronte Jones who the team let walk this offseason after not renewing his contract.
Jackson spent the last two seasons as the New York Jets assistant defensive backs coach. His coaching career also includes stops at the Tennessee Titans (2016-17), Detroit Lions (‘13), Washington Redskins (’04-11) and Buffalo Bills (’01-03).
The 50-year-old assistant coach is a former NFL defensive back. He played nine seasons with the Houston Oilers/Tennessee Titans.
