National Football League players - including the Cincinnati Bengals' Logan Wilson, Allan George and Trent Taylor - are reacting to a report Saturday via Twitter that that league is planning to have an active conversation during the offseason about the possibility of banning hip-drop tackles.
Tweets Saturday from The Washington Post's Mark Maske cited NFL chief medical officer Dr. Allen Sills.
"I think it'll be a very active offseason conversation, to look at the mechanism. Obviously the 'hip-drop' tackle is not the only cause of high ankle sprains. There are certainly other factors," Sills said, per Maske.
