Long-time Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert accounted for 43 of the 77 receptions by a Cincinnati tight end last season. Eifert is now suiting up for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Thus, the Bengals are counting on C.J. Uzomah and Drew Sample to help fill the void left by Eifert, who ranks sixth all-time in franchise history in receiving yards for a tight end.
“Obviously, losing Tyler (Eifert), he’s been here a long time. He was able to do a lot of things for us. But I feel confident in our room and with C.J. (Uzomah) and Cethan (Carter) and the other guys we have,” Sample said.
