Andrew Billings should be a month removed from his first Browns season and honeymooning somewhere much warmer than Northeast Ohio.
But COVID-19 has been known to disrupt plans.
Concerns stemming from the pandemic prompted Billings to opt out of last season and postpone until 2022 the wedding he and fiancee Elly Ogle wanted to have this winter.
Billings, who will turn 26 on March 6, worries about the virus effectively ending his career as a defensive tackle if he were to contract it. He has suffered from asthma since he was born.
“With my asthma, I didn't want to take the risk of having any long-term effects where I couldn't play football for the rest of my life,” Billings said during a recent phone interview with the Beacon Journal.
