'Boomer & Carton' co-host Craig Carton resigns from WFAN amid fraud charges

Craig Carton, the co-host of the "Boomer & Carton" sports talk radio show on WFAN along with former Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Boomer Esiason, resigned from the station on Wednesday, saying that he's focused on his family, his well-being and clearing his name. Carton faces federal charges of securities and wire fraud.

According to NYpost.com, authorities say a $5.6 million Ponzi scheme took money from investors for a sham concert ticket-reselling business that Carton used to pay off personal gambling debts.

“Unfortunately, the unfounded legal issues currently plaguing me will only be a distraction to everyone at WFAN and the show I helped build,” Carton said in his statement.
