Cincinnati Bengals coach Zac Taylor sipped on some victory wine when he got home on Sunday night. It was a celebratory occasion for a rookie head coach who just notched his first win.
“Good,” Taylor said with a smile when asked how the wine tasted.
For the first-year coach Sunday’s win was a long time coming. Taylor’s had an inauspicious start to his head coaching career. His rookie first-round pick had season-ending shoulder surgery in the offseason, on the very first day of training camp the Bengals’ best player went down with a left ankle injury and still hasn’t been able to play, the injury bug attacked the team on both sides of the ball and the club got off to its worst start in franchise history.
