CINCINNATI -- Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver John Ross III is happy to be preparing for his return to the field after doctors told him a chest injury could have been life-threatening.
Late in Cincinnati's Week 4 loss at Pittsburgh, the sternoclavicular joint in Ross' chest came about an inch away from puncturing an artery, the wide receiver said on Wednesday, one day after being returned to the 53-man roster. After spending the last eight weeks on the team's injured reserve list, Ross said he's thankful to be back on the field after the doctor informed him of the potentially grim situation.
