Bengals Week 1 opener at Paul Brown Stadium will be played without fans

The new-look Cincinnati Bengals will open the season at Paul Brown Stadium against the Los Angeles Chargers without fans.

Adhering to state and local guidelines, the Bengals announced on Tuesday that Week 1's game on Sept. 13 will be played without fans at the downtown Cincinnati stadium because of the coronavirus pandemic.

“For several months, the Bengals have worked diligently with the NFL, with local governments and with experts in the health community to develop a plan to responsibly host fans during the 2020 NFL season at Paul Brown Stadium,” said Bengals Executive Vice President Katie Blackburn.
