Bengals waive OT Kent Perkins, who intends to retire

Perkins, a first-year player, was originally a college free agent signee of the Bengals in 2017. He played in one game for Cincinnati, and spent most of his two seasons with the team on the practice squad.

Perkins had been the team’s second-string right tackle during training camp and took 32 snaps against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 1 of the preseason. His release and retirement comes as a surprise considering there was a decent chance he could’ve played his way onto the roster.

For now, Perkins is officially a free agent if he wishes to continue playing.
