The Cincinnati Bengals are starting to trim their roster with under two weeks until cutdown day.
On Thursday, the team announced that reserve cornerback Sojourn Shelton had been waived and given an injury settlement. He had not played in Cincinnati’s first two games this preseason due to a torn thumb ligament suffered early in training camp.
Shelton, a first-year player, spent 13 games on the Bengals’ practice squad last season. He was an undrafted free agent out of Wisconsin who signed with the Cardinals following the 2017 NFL Draft.
