The Cincinnati Bengals are making moves ahead of the 2019 NFL Draft.
On Tuesday, the team waived reserve defensive tackle Adolphus Washington.
The Bengals had signed Washington, a fourth-year player in 2019, off the Dallas Cowboys’ practice squad on Sept. 26 last season. The former Ohio State Buckeyes defender played in four games and totaled six tackles and a sack before landing on injured reserve with a knee injury on Nov. 23.
It seems odd the Bengals would make this move ahead of the draft, but it makes sense if the team thinks they’ll sign a big crop of undrafted free agents after the draft ends, not to mention they’re currently set to make 11 selections during the draft.
