The Cincinnati Bengals are officially down to their third-string quarterback.
With Brandon Allen (knee) declared out, Ryan Finley will start against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday Night Football. Allen suffered a bone bruise last Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys and Finley was put in to finish the game. This week, Finley has taken first-team reps during practice and the team also signed Kyle Shurmur to their practice squad as extra depth.
It’s unknown if Shurmur will be activated for the game, but Kevin Hogan, who was signed onto the practice squad the week after Joe Burrow’s injury, will definitely be active as Finley’s backup.
