The Cincinnati Bengals have signed tight end Matt Lengel off the Houston Texans’ practice squad, the team announced Wednesday.
Lengel (6-7, 266), a third-year player out of Eastern Kentucky University, entered the NFL as a college free agent signee of the Bengals in 2015 and spent the ’15 season and half of the ’16 season on the team’s practice squad. He also has spent time in the 2016 and ’17 seasons on the active rosters of the New England Patriots and the Cleveland Browns. He has played in six NFL games, with career regular-season totals of two catches for 22 yards and a touchdown.
