The Cincinnati Bengals have waived offensive lineman Andre Smith. In a corresponding move, the team sign tight end Mason Schreck from the practice squad.
This move is being made in part because Cethan Carter and Drew Sample are out this week due to injury. And with the return of Cordy Glenn, that’s one less lineman the Bengals needed to keep.
Schreck, a third-year player, was originally a seventh-round draft pick (251st overall) of the Bengals in 2017. He was limited by knee injuries to just six games over his first two seasons (no statistics), and then spent Games 1-11 of this season on Cincinnati’s practice squad.
