Bengals show RB position is still valuable with Joe Mixon's four-year extension

The NFL has transitioned to a more pass-happy league. As a consequence, some have devalued the running back position. However, there’s no running back depreciation in Cincinnati.

Joe Mixon inked his four-year, $48 million contract extension almost a year to the day of Giovani Bernard's two-year deal that he signed in 2019. The combine worth of both their contracts is over $58 million. Their contracts signify the Bengals value the running back position.

Mixon celebrated his new deal by talking to his family and eating Chick-fil-A on Tuesday evening. He officially signed the contract on Wednesday.
