Cincinnati Bengals safety Ricardo Allen announced on Sunday night he is retiring from the NFL after seven years. Allen signed a one-year deal with the Bengals in free agency ahead of the 2021 season.
Prior to his brief stint with the Bengals, Allen played six seasons with the Atlanta Falcons. Allen was drafted by the Falcons in the fifth round of the 2014 NFL Draft out of Purdue where he played for current Bengals’ defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo. After being cut in 2014, Allen switched from cornerback to safety where he played the remainder of his career.
