The Cincinnati Bengals announced on Monday morning that they released veteran right guard Alex Cappa, who they signed prior to the 2022 season, saving themselves approximately $8 million in cap space.
Cappa was brought in after the Bengals lost the Super Bowl after the 2021 season to help shore up the interior of the offensive line. The Bengals signed him to a four-year, $35 million contract on March 14, 2022.
Cappa only allowed seven sacks over his first two seasons with the Bengals, but in 2024 PFF credits him with a staggering eight sacks, which was tied for the second most in the league from the position that year.
