The Cincinnati Bengals have re-signed offensive guard Alex Redmond to a one-year contract, the team announced Wednesday.
Redmond, a third-year player in 2019, was originally an undrafted free agent for the 2016 season. Last season, he played in and started 15 games at right guard. He assisted in the blocking efforts for running back Joe Mixon’s AFC-best 1,168 rushing yards.
However, Redmond was also one of the worst starting offensive lineman in football last year, according to Pro Football Focus. That’s a big reason why the Bengals went out and signed free agent John Miller to a three-year deal, as he’s now expected to man the right guard spot.
