Bengals put Niles Scott on IR

The Cincinnati Bengals have placed defensive tackle Niles Scott on injured reserve.

Scott, a second-year player, suffered a foot injury in practice on July 31. He hasn’t practiced since then and will now miss the upcoming season unless he reaches an injury settlement with the team.

The 6-2, 320-pound Scott played in Cincinnati’s final six games last season and recorded four tackles. He showed flashes of becoming a quality interior run-stuffer, but the Bengals already have that in Andrew Billings and Josh Tupo to play next to Geno Atkins.
