The Bengals, hamstrung with a laundry list of injuries, have promoted cornerback Troy Hill to the roster. In order to make room, Cincinnati waived cornerback Chris Lewis-Harris.
Lewis-Harris has been dealing with a rib injury, missing all three of this week’s practices. On the other hand, Hill is healthy, eager and ready to play if the Bengals need to call his number.
The move didn’t have to do with Lewis-Harris’ on-field effectiveness; it had to do with health. Adam Jones, Leon Hall and Lewis-Harris were all dealing with injuries, leaving Cincinnati with three fully healthy corners.
