Bengals’ prized free agent D.J. Reader has injury scare vs. Chargers

The Bengals made it nearly three full quarters without having an injury vs. the Chargers, but that sadly changed in a big way late in the third quarter.

After starting guard Xavier Su’a-Filo left the game with an ankle injury, another newly-signed starter was also forced from the game. Starting nose tackle D.J. Reader went down with a lower-body injury late in the quarter, and the cart was quickly brought out for him as trainers examined his knee.

Reader was eventually carted off the field for further examination while in obvious pain.
