Bengals OL Alex Redmond passes physical

Bengals offensive guard Alex Redmond has passed his physical, per the Monday transaction wire. That means Redmond is now eligible to begin practicing for the first time this season after opening training camp on the NFI list.

Redmond, who is now entering his fifth year in the NFL, is a former undrafted free agent out of UCLA who spent all of 2016 on the Bengals’ practice squad, then appeared in 23 games (17 starts) over the next three seasons.

Last year, Redmond was suspended for the first four games due to a PED violation, then played in three games before landing on injured reserve with a torn biceps suffered during pregame warmups in Week 12.
