A.J. Green cleared a hurdle in his recovery process.
The Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver underwent minor surgery on Tuesday to repair ligament damage to his left ankle, NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reported.
It’s expected that Green will be sidelined for six to eight weeks. Although, Green’s availability for Week 1 hasn’t been ruled out.
Green injured his ankle during 7-on-7 drills on the first day of Bengals’ training camp. The receiver landed awkwardly on his left foot trying to catch a deep pass over cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick.
The ninth-year receiver was at the team’s facility on Monday riding around on a medical scooter and he had a walking boot on his left foot.
