Cincinnati Bengals defensive tackle Geno Atkins appears to be inching closer to playing.
Atkins was a limited participant at Wednesday’s practice. Wednesday marked Atkins' first practice since suffering a shoulder injury in training camp.
The defensive tackle has missed the first three games of the regular season. Bengals coach Zac Taylor didn’t rule out Atkins making his season debut on Sunday versus the Jacksonville Jaguars.
“We’ll take it day-to-day and know more by the end of the week,” Taylor said on Wednesday.
The Bengals defense has certainly missed the eight-time Pro Bowler. Cincinnati’s defense ranks 24th in the NFL and they are giving up 181.
