Cincinnati Bengals defensive tackle Christian Covington sees teammate Geno Atkins as a fighter.
All season, Covington watched Atkins play through a shoulder injury. After the Bengals placed Atkins on the reserve/injured list on Tuesday, Covington praised the 11-year veteran defensive tackle’s effort.
“(Atkins) is a man that doesn't give up,” Covington said. “He's going to put his team (first); he's going to put his teammates first. He wants to be able to give this team every opportunity to be able to be successful and get wins. He's a fighter, at the end of the day.”
Atkins, an eight-time Pro Bowler, will miss the rest of the 2020 season with a shoulder injury.
