The Cincinnati Bengals have returned punter Brad Robbins to the active roster from the injured reserve list, the team announced Monday. He takes the final spot on the 53-man roster that was left vacant following Trent Brown being placed on IR.
Robbins was placed on the Reserve/Injured list with a quadriceps injury on August 27th.
This is a surprising move, as current punter Ryan Rehkow has had a solid season thus far after taking over for Robbins. It’s very rare for an NFL team to have two punters on the 53-man roster, so this move raises some eyebrows.
