With the Cleveland Browns expected to hire Cincinnati Bengals quarterbacks coach Alex Van Pelt as their new offensive coordinator, the Bengals have promoted assistant quarterbacks coach Dan Pitcher to replace Van Pelt as QBs coach.
Pitcher has spent four seasons on the Bengals' coaching staff.
The 49-year-old Van Pelt was the Bengals' QBs coach for the past two seasons. He's also served as an NFL assistant coach for the Green Bay Packers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Buffalo Bills. His NFL playing career lasted 11 seasons - 10 of them with the Bills.
