The Bengals are already down a quarterback in their preseason finale against the Colts.
On the team’s first offensive possession, Matt Barkley was forced from the game due to a knee injury. It was unclear when the injury happened, as he was slow to get up the previous play following a roughing the passer penalty. But he stayed in the game and ran the next play — an end-around handoff to Kermit Whitfield — then went to the sideline to be examined by trainers.
Not long after Barkley left the game, the team announced it was a left knee injury and would miss the rest of the game.
