The Bengals couldn’t make it through one quarter without a key player being injured against the Bears.
Linebacker Vincent Rey suffered what appeared to be a leg injury during a punt return midway through the first quarter. He was down after the play and had to be helped off the field to be examined on the sideline.
The team quickly announced Rey suffered an ankle injury and was doubtful to return. That does not necessarily mean it’s a bad injury as much as the team won’t risk further injury in what’s really a meaningless preseason game for the veteran.
