CINCINNATI -- Under AJ McCarron's guidance the past two games, the Cincinnati Bengals have gotten off to fast starts offensively, scoring a combined 35 first-half points.
But the second halves of those games have been a different story. In them, the Bengals have mustered only a combined six points.
As high-octane and rapid-fire as the offense has been through Quarters 1 and 2 since McCarron became the starting quarterback, the very same unit has been stuck in neutral across the final two quarters (and one two-play overtime possession) the past two weeks. They hung on for a narrow 10-point win at San Francisco, but allowed the Broncos to race past them for a 20-17 overtime win Monday night.
