Geno Atkins’ 96-consecutive game streak is coming to an end.
The Cincinnati Bengals ruled the defensive tackle out for the team’s Week 1 contest versus the Los Angeles Chargers. Atkins didn’t participate in practice this week because of a shoulder injury. The 32-year-old hurt his shoulder in practice last week.
“We’ll give him a little more time. He’s been day-to-day for us with a shoulder (injury). We’ll give it a little more time,” Bengals coach Zac Taylor said on Friday.
The Bengals don’t expect Atkins to be sidelined for long.
Cincinnati’s defensive will sorely miss Atkins.
