CINCINNATI -- The Bengals haven't announced their team captains for the 2017 season yet, but they've got some shoes to fill this year.
Last season's captains were tackle Andrew Whitworth, cornerback Adam Jones, quarterback Andy Dalton, nose tackle Domata Peko, defensive end Michael Johnson and linebacker Vincent Rey. Whitworth and Peko both signed with other teams in the offseason and Jones is currently on a one-game suspension, with his return coming next week.
With those defensive slots to fill, Bengals coach Marvin Lewis can think of one player who has come a long way toward taking that role.
