For Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Trae Waynes, it appears his streak of bad luck with injuries will continue to plague his career. The team placed Waynes on injured reserve on Tuesday afternoon. The earliest Waynes would be eligible to play is Week 9 when the Bengals host the Cleveland Browns on Nov. 7.
Defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo hinted this could happen when he told reporters Waynes suffered a re-injured his hamstring on the final play against the Packers.
Waynes' injury news is significant because the 29-year-old has only played in two games for the Bengals since signing a three-year deal worth $42 million in March of 2020.
