NFL Officiating announced Monday evening that referee Ron Torbert will lead a crew of officials for the AFC Championship between the Cincinnati Bengals and Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night at Arrowhead Stadium.
Torbert was the referee for the Los Angeles Rams' Super Bowl 56 win against Cincinnati. It was his first Super Bowl, and among the most controversial calls officials made was a defensive-holding penalty on Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson that gave the Rams a fresh set of downs with the Bengals leading and less than two minutes left in the game.
This is Torbert's first conference championship, per footballzebras.
