Bengals and Amarius Mims reach agreement on rookie contract

Just in the knick of time, when it looked like we may be looking down the barrel of Andre Smith 2.0, the last domino fell. The Cincinnati Bengals have officially signed their first-round pick, Amarius Mims. He is the final rookie draft pick to sign his deal.

According to Spotrac, the contract is a four-year, $15.37 million deal, inked early on Monday morning. It includes a $7.99 million fifth-year option.

Mims is expected to be the “sixth-man” for the offensive line. While Trent Brown was away during minicamp, Mims took first-team snaps. Now that Brown will be available for training camp, which begins on Wednesday, Mims is expected to be a backup, should the need arise.
