CINCINNATI -- Although the Cincinnati Bengals likely will be without Ryan Hewitt this weekend due to an MCL sprain, the second-year H-back and key run-blocker is hopeful for a return in time for the playoffs.
"I'm just taking it day by day, waiting for the trainers to tell me what they think," Hewitt said Thursday.
Hewitt was hurt on the opening drive of Monday night's 20-17 overtime loss at Denver. He hobbled off the field after one block on a 2-yard Jeremy Hill run, and was tangled up in a pile at the end of another run earlier in the series.
