CINCINNATI -- The anniversary came and passed in Cincinnati with little to no fanfare.
That tends to happen when a trademark win morphs into a reminder of failure. On Jan. 6, 1991, the Bengals toppled the San Diego Chargers to win the AFC Championship Game. The game was dubbed "The Freezer Bowl" because of a temperature that was -9 degrees and a wind chill of a whopping -59.
Since that game, Cincinnati's playoff history has been equally frigid. The franchise recently hit the 30-year anniversary of the game that represents the Bengals' last playoff win and they haven't been back to the postseason since 2015.
