Artrell Hawkins Sr., the father of former Cincinnati Bengals Artrell Jr. and Andrew and grandfather of former Moeller High School standout and current Penn State defensive tackle Aeneas, died Thursday of natural causes in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, according to family members. He was 63.
Artrell Hawkins Jr. was a University of Cincinnati Bearcats standout and second-round draft pick of the Bengals in 1998. He played for the Bengals until 2003 and has since contributed to local coverage of UC and the Bengals.
Andrew Hawkins, Artrell's younger brother, played for the Bengals for three seasons - from 2011 to 2013 - before playing three seasons for the Cleveland Browns.
