Alex Erickson is leaving the Cincinnati Bengals.
Late Thursday night, Erickson agreed to a deal with the Houston Texans, according to Damond Talbot of Draft Diamonds.
A sixth-year player in 2021, Erickson has carved out a solid career in Cincinnati due to his strengths as an impact special teams player. He logged 135 punt returns and 108 kickoff returns across 80 games with the Bengals. He also caught 93 passes for 1,086 yards and one score in that same timeframe.
While Erickson didn’t get a lot of attention heading into the 2021 free agency period — mainly because guys like him tend to get re-signed by the Bengals anyhow — it’s a notable loss for a team that also lost kicker Randy Bullock to the Detroit Lions earlier today.
