Finally, A.J. Green faced a single defender.
That’s what Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Jeff Driskel said he noticed pre-snap on a second-and-long midway through the second quarter in Sunday’s 24-10 loss to the Denver Broncos.
“It was a one-on-one look, and I’m going to A.J. every time,” Driskel said. “My eyes were downfield, I looked over and unfortunately he was down.”
Driskel was sacked on the play. Worse, Green went out for the rest of the game and, perhaps, the remainder of the season.
