Rookie quarterback Joe Burrow knew after a humiliating loss to the Ravens that the team needed to get superstar receiver A.J. Green more involved in the team’s stalling offensive.
After having 13 targets in Week 2, Green had 12 targets in Weeks 3-5 combined and just one in a 27-3 blowout loss to Baltimore. He was clearly frustrated with how his season was going, as hadn’t gone over 51 yards in a game entering the team’s Week 6 matchup with the Colts.
“A.J. is a great player and I’m going to continue to try to get him the ball and we need to get him going,” Burrow said following their Week 5 loss, according to the Bengals’ website.
