According to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily, there’s still no guarantee Jets OC John Morton will return as the team’s offensive coordinator for the 2018 season.
Mehta previously reported that the Jets would allow Morton to join Jon Gruden’s coaching staff in Oakland if the opportunity presented itself. Gruden elected to hire Greg Olson as their new offensive coordinator, which means Morton would have to take a lesser role of the Raiders’ staff for this to be a possibility.
The Jets would reportedly still allow Morton to leave and his status in New York remains unresolved.
