If you couple the way Jermaine Burton played in the regular season with the need for another wide receiver to step into the Cincinnati Bengals’ WR3 role, you’d think the wide receiver and the team were a match made in football heaven.
However, according to a recent report from Paul Dehner Jr., it’s very clear as to why Burton fell to the Bengals in the third round, stating, “He has not been in the vicinity of where he needs to be as a professional.”
Dehner continued that Burton has had trouble with the playbook, often running the wrong routes, and while the reports of the rookie sleeping through meetings hasn’t been verified, the overall sentiment about the lack of professionalism seems to be a constant.
