In addition to the offensive line, cornerback is the second biggest positional need for the Cincinnati Bengals to address this offseason. The NFL's free agent negotiating period begins on March 14 allowing teams to begin the process of signing players ahead of the new league year starting on March 16 at 4 p.m.
After signing cornerback Chidobe Awuzie in free agency last year, the Bengals’ defense benefited right away. Awuzie stepped in and served as Cincinnati’s top cover cornerback and the addition of slot cornerback Mike Hilton and Awuzie was a key reason for the defensive success in the 2021 season.
