NFL Free Agency is officially here and the NFL Draft is rapidly approaching. As a result, the next few days (or even weeks) will feature at least a few Cincinnati Bengals rumors. The Bengals made a few re-signings early and they might not be done yet. They've also started to focus more on the NFL Draft. With that in mind, here are all of the interesting rumors and news tidbits on the Bengals.
Reggie Nelson Update
Of the Bengals unsigned free agents, safety Reggie Nelson is the most talented. He has yet to land with a team and is arguably one of the top free agents left on the market, despite being 32-years old. He had eight interceptions last year, which make the lack of buzz around him surprising.
Outside of a brief link to the New York Giants, there has been nothing on Nelson. That's a good sign for Bengals fans who want Nelson back. The longer he stays unsigned, the more likely he'll return to Cincinnati on a cheap deal.
Laquon Treadwell Visit
The Bengals lost both Marvin Jones and Mohamed Sanu this offseason, so it's no surprise that the team is looking at WR help. The team will get a visit with Ole Miss WR Laquon Treadwell, he told NFL.com. It's one of the many visits Treadwell will take.
"I take it very seriously. I take everything at this point like this is my job and treat everything I do like it's my job," Treadwell said. "I treat everybody with respect because you never know what everybody else can do for you or what doors might open up for you. I'm excited about it all and it's nothing anybody in my family has experienced so it will be fun."
Treadwell is generally considered the draft's top WR, although there are concerns about his speed and separation ability. There's no guarantee Treadwell will be on the board when the Bengals pick.
Bengals Looking At Josh Forrest?
According to Tony Pauline, the Bengals are interested in Kentucky LB Josh Forrest. Head coach Marvin Lewis was at UK's Pro Day, and got a good look at Forrest. The athletic linebacker projects as a mid-to-late Day 3 pick. He'd provide depth for the Bengals at LB, if he makes the team.
